Our approach
Bouncer asks for the minimum information it needs. The app does not use an account. Your Screen Time data and the private details of your rules stay on your iPhone. We process limited anonymous purchase, operational, and diagnostic information to provide subscriptions, understand whether essential app flows work, and fix crashes.
This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, who processes it for us, and how you can ask us to remove it.
What we collect
Previous waitlist. The website no longer accepts waitlist submissions. If you joined before launch, we stored your normalized email address and the time you submitted it. We use this information only to complete the launch notice or handle your request.
Messages. If you email us, we receive your address and the information in your message so we can reply.
Subscriptions. Apple and RevenueCat process an anonymous app user identifier, the product selected, purchase and subscription status, receipts, and related transaction information. We use this information to show offers, complete and restore purchases, check access, and help with subscription support. Apple processes payment details. Bouncer does not receive your card number or billing address.
Operational analytics. PostHog receives an anonymous installation identifier and a short list of events about essential flows, such as the app entering the foreground, onboarding, permission results, paywall use, purchase and restore results, first rule activation, and protection repair. These events help us understand return use, find failed flows, and improve app reliability. Automatic screen capture, element capture, session replay, surveys, person profiles, and user identification are off.
Crashes and diagnostics. PostHog receives crash reports and errors that Bouncer records explicitly. A report may include a stack trace, error context, app and build version, iOS version, and device model. We use this information to diagnose and fix technical problems.
Website analytics. Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” It may receive the pages you visit, referral source, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device details, scrolls, outbound clicks, and App Store link clicks. We use this information to understand how people find and use the website. We disable Google Signals and advertising personalization.
Technical requests. Cloudflare may process standard request information, such as an IP address, browser details, request time, and security signals, to deliver and protect the website. Bouncer does not use this information for advertising.
What stays on your iPhone
Bouncer uses Apple Screen Time APIs to apply the rules you set and show your report. Your Screen Time values, selected apps and opaque tokens, rules and rule names, schedules, local first name, friction history, unlocks, and Emergency Pass use are processed on your device. Bouncer does not send that information to RevenueCat, PostHog, or us.
The app does not use an account. We do not use your app activity for advertising, and we do not sell it.
No tracking or advertising
Bouncer does not use the collected information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission, build advertising profiles, sell information, or show advertising. Google Analytics remains off until you allow it.
Who processes information for us
Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat provides subscription status, purchases, restore, the paywall, and subscription management. PostHog processes anonymous operational analytics and crash diagnostics through its European Union service. Google Analytics processes consented website analytics. Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and stores the previous waitlist database. Our email provider processes messages that you send us and the launch notification.
Each provider receives only the information needed for its service and handles it under its own privacy terms. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
How long we keep information
We keep your waitlist record until we send the launch notification, or until you ask us to remove it. We keep support messages only as long as needed to reply, maintain a useful record, or meet a legal obligation.
We keep operational analytics, website analytics, and diagnostics only for as long as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve Bouncer. Purchase and subscription records may be kept while needed to provide access, resolve support issues, prevent fraud, and meet legal or accounting duties. Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, Google, and our other providers also apply their own retention rules.
Information stored by the app stays on your device until you remove it through the app, delete the app, or erase the relevant device data.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You can change your website analytics choice at any time through “Analytics choices” in the footer. You can also ask us to access, correct, or remove your waitlist email address, a message you sent us, or the limited operational information associated with your installation when we can identify it. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account or through Bouncer's subscription management screen. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your personal information.
Send a request from the relevant email address to [email protected]. We do not charge you or treat you differently for making a privacy request.
International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, they use safeguards intended to protect information during those transfers.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the website, app, or our data practices change. The effective date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide reasonable notice.
